I've been using the WinCE/PocketPC format PDA's for almost 3 years now. What I didn't like about them was simply the size...I needed something ultra-pocketable. Anything bigger I may as well carry my laptop around. My last PocketPC was the Ipaq.I was in Circuit City last week, seeing what latest and greatest PDA's were available. This little Sony SJ30 caught my eye. But of course...I've always thought that the Palm OS was very limiting, so I couldn't actually take it seriously....or could I?
I started playing around with it. Much to my delight...this little bugger can do everything that my Pocket PC's could do. I didn't notice any differene in the speed of operation, which surprised me considering the difference in processor speeds. So I decided to take the leap and give the Palm OS and the Sony PEG-SJ30 a whirl. I'm not sorry I did!
Pros: Nice, bright screen, Lots of usable apps, including Docs to Go INCLUDED. Very easy to use OS. SIZE, SIZE, SIZE!!! This thing fits very comfortably in a jeans pocket, which was a big sticking point with me. Synching with Outlook has bee flawless thus far.
Cons: Writing area fixed on screen, Games that Sony included on CD are Demos, and the racing game did not install on the device properly. USB cradle NOT included in box....must purchase for $50 more :-(
