Iv been alwys a vry busy person dat i even 4GET 2 EAT MY MEALS bcuz of d pack of works i hav 2 do! but since Palm m505 cme in2 my lyf, lyf now has bcme easier 2 handle. when iv got lots of things 2 do, i juz hv 2 list it up in my palm & thus makes me an organized person, i don't hav 2 think forever of what i should do first. and gez wat, i don't 4get 2 eat my lunch now! :)

think twice about buying this unit. although it does have a color screen and it can do the basic things all pdas can do, there are so many reasons to get something else. First of all, the expansion slot, in my opinion is nearly useless as it can only store mostly documents and few programs. Then of course, everyone knows how muted the colors of the screen is that you have to use the backlight all the time, which drains the battery pretty fast. It cannot store video clips because that will use up all your built in memory. The audio player sound sucks. If you want to listen to mp3, you have to buy and external unit and that would make it bulky in the end. plus...its a lot more expensive than say, the clie or jornada, which in my opinion could be the perfect pda,utility wise and price wise. :)

Good, but no cigar, Mr Clinton
I have been a Palm user for nearly 5 years and upgraded to the M505 June 2001. At first I was amazed at being a colour user... then the rose-coloured glasses fell off and I actually started to use it in anger. My entire life (work and social) is run from it and I have found a few annoyances, as well as pleasures from my Palm.
USB Hotsyncing failed in Jan 2002 and Palm refused to admit it existed as a problem. Static Discharge frazzled my USB chip causing the M505 to completely fail to hotsync.
The colour is too dark to be useful so BackLit was installed almost immediately to enable me to see it.
A lack of decent, useful apps in colour meant that mostly it was used in B&W anyway!
No MP3 player, although this would drain the battery anyway.
One thing that WinCE does do is the Transcribe software for realtime, word recognition... it would make note taking a much more enjoyable task over keyboard or letter-by-letter entry.
I am now thinking of a Sony Clie as my replacement model.

Being a gizmo freak?
I was recently given a Palm 505 for my birthday. It is amazing! I have always wanted it and I was and am so hooked on it since then. I love purchasing shareware's and freeware's from the vast availability of sites supporting this little wonder of gizmo. I get to play all sorts of games while waiting for trams or sitting in a boring lecture at Uni. The only thing though, is having to purchase an external clip on to use it as an MP3 player. The sound system is not quit good as I cant listen in to the sound from the video clips I download. I am totally pleased with the color pixels although the latest Compaq has a much better color screen. Yeah, sure.....Compaq has a clearer and bigger screen and all but gawd its chunky and the casing is so reflective it seems to scream out "Look at me!". So seriously, there will always be something better out there. But with that comes some sacrifices. Im satisfied with the Palm I have and its seriously worthit. It keeps me organised, entertained and fascinated. The effect of my palm? Its so addictive, I end up leaving a personal indent of my body on my couch. I'm so addicted that Im actually submitting my opinion right about.....Now.

Just rush for it!!
My life changed completely since i got my m505, and I am not exagerating. Everything is under control now!, I read books, papers with the latest news, read&write emails. The thing i miss the most is the mp3 incorporated, but in such a slim case i guess it was not possible. Simply a little wonder.
