Amazing PDA
Summary: The Palm Pilot Pro Is The Ideal PDA. It features a large touch screen display, a graphiti handwriting panel, and a bright colored backlight.

Review: I bought this pda off eBay for $40. This is my best eBay purchace. The Palm Pilot Pro has a uniqe and user friendly interface. The icons are large and easy to see.

Conclusion: I would recomend this pda to anyone searching for a older pda.

Ive found my ideal PDA!
For months now I have been trying out organisers and (in my opinion) all have failed on one of three points. They are
1) Battery consumption
2) steep learning curve
3) Size (too big too small.
I had actually made a payment on a PDA when on a whim I bought a Palm Pilot Pro at a charity jumble sale for £20.After trying it for 15 mins I knew my organiser search was over! I cancelled the other PDA order and now very happily use my Palm Pilot Pro and think it is the perfect PDA. All functions come redily to hand and are sophisticated enought to suit most people. It is so easy to use that I was encouraged to use the more advanced functions (like installing applications). I got the HotSync to work first go and once Id purchased some extra software, the Palm Pilot Pro talked to Microsoft Outlook 2000 as well. It does all that I could ever want an organiser to do and more. I am only dissapointed that now it is no longer avaliable.

Old work horse of a machine
I have recently retired my PalmPro after carrying it daily for the last 4 years. It's still going strong but I have sucummed to the temptation of the color Clies. Still, the PalmPro served my well. I quicky added the 2mb board to this machine and for most text based applications it fufilled my needs. The machine was dropped a few times and thrown around in my bag daily and very rarely let me down. The 2 AAA batteries kept this
thing running for weeks on end. Stepping up to a new Clie has shown me that the technology has grown but the Pro is still a useable machine. I'm passing mine on to my Dad in the hope that I will make another Palm convert. I'm sure there's still a few years of use in this thing.

Palm Pilot Pro.
I've just bought the palmpilot Pro. from my old friend last 2 weeks. It was about RM 100 (US28). Act. this stuff is my second pda. I've already used Palm m105, unfortunately, it was stolen. When the first time I used it, I was very impressed with it's style. Even it's equipted only 1MB, for a manager like me, it's never let me down. When I transfer all the data from my laptop, everything goes smoothly and i'm still have about 566k left. The actual OS ver. is 2.0.5 and with the LCD, i've nothing to worry about the power because the consumption is very safe, better than color version of pda.

Wonderful PDA, rivals even the top Palms today..
well i bought my Palm Professional in June of 2001.
it was $75 on ebay with leather case, came all in origional box and all manuals, its amazing that this guy held on to all this stuff!. I went out and bought a palm IIIxe but i found out that its almost identical to my palm Pro's functions. just more memory, which i don't need. LOL!! its at %94 free memory of 8megs, and my palm pro is at 38% free with a bunch of applications. the only major problem that it has is not a lack of memory,
h ell 1meg is a lot to me! i don't know how some one can fill up 8megs , its prob all crap anyway. anyway the main problem is the lack of IR infa red. thats it. i've been looking for a n IR card but they cost as much as i paid for this palm! I am a high school senior now and i think i will switch from my Palm IIIxe to my trusty palm Professional. its worth less, and i don't have to worry about it getting stolen as with my palm IIIxe. its kinda boxy, but yet again, so is the visor. the color just stinks but no cases are readily available for a palm pro.
all in all and excellent PDA, i don't know why people think lowly of it for haveing "only' 1meg. 1 meg goes a long way as for text and stuff.

Still a Winner
I bought my Palm Pro second hand from a friend who went to a RIM 600. He's never been more disappointed although he has current(2001) technology and I'm using his old castaway. He has discovered, (much to his chagrin and my pleasure), that many of the features he had come to love and trust, and assumed would also be included in the RIM are sadly lacking. I have heard that there is a third party add on to increase the memory of the Palm Pro. Does anyone know if these are still available, as I would just as soon update my Palm Pro as buy a newer version.

OS
I like the palm Pro. I picked it up at a discount store about 2 years ago. But I runs the 2.0.5 OS not the version 3.x.x OS. You have to upgrade the memory to 2MB to get the newer OS. But it is a great little unit, and does everything I need.

Hey, I need a docking station for mine. I bought mine off of a buddy, that has upgraded to another unit, but no longer has the hotsync cradle. Does anyone know the part number (manufacturer)??
