Note, that while [1] warns against using this updater with non-palm
brands, I've used it with my Clie and Win2k machine successfully.

First, I attempted to patch it [1] over the USB/truesynch hotsynching and desktop I already installed on my laptop (and had working with PalmV). I then clicked the hotsynch IR option, did the same on the Clie, and attempted. It actually connects and synch the mail, and then goes on the TrueSynch. However, it seems *really* slow and at somepoint the Win2k laptop will complain that the IR has gone out of range. (Note, I can still use my PalmV and I know the connection is much more speedy feeling for some reason.)

Second, since I plan on doing IR only on my laptop (and take the cradle to work) I suspect I could remove all the truesynch crap, do a proper desktop install from my Palm V CDROM, run the updater, and be good to go! While this works, it too seemed slow, but not as slow since the TrueSynch process seems more laborious!
