Hi,i'm sorry your Palm IIIc died. How long did you have your palm IIIc? Most PDA lifespans are about 2-3 years average. And color PDAs have a shorter lifespan in general because there color processing wears out the processor much faster, and even worse if you over-clock your palm like using Afterburner. So you didn't know that the Visor Edge was grayscale until you turned it on? hmm..have you tried a hard reset to your IIIc? if not try a warm reset also and see if anything comes up..If you really want to revive your IIIc, you can contact www.gethightech.com, they repair palms at a resonable price, at least much better than sending your IIIc to Palm, Inc. for a repair since they're pretty costly. GetHighTech also sells PDA parts and accessories and they offer free repair videos that you can download like "how to take your palm/visor apart", "how to install a new memory cheap", and also like "how to install a new digitizer/LCD".
