External Serial Modem setup for m505

Palm m505 Board (Del Msg) Title: External Serial Modem setup for m505 Posted By: mmalah (Registered) E-mail: See Profile Date: 05/10/2002 at 00:11:04 Message: Hi Folks, I used to have a IIIxe Palm which I used to browse the web through an external US Robotics Sportster serial modem, null modem adaptor and a serial sync cable. Now I'm changing my whole Palm life to m505, which has basically a USB cradle supplied. My questions are: 1- If I purchase a serial sync cable for the m505, should I be able to connect to my ISP throught my old serial modem in the same way like the Palm IIIxe? If yes, is the setup procedure the same? 2- Or, should I get a new USB modem instead? would it be better than my old serial modem? Should I need a null modem adaptor for a USB port "if there is something called so!!"? Thanks. Is this message offensive or in violation of this board's policies? If so report it by clicking here.
