Job Duties/Responsibilities
The programmer's central responsibility is to design and build high-quality Palm software and desktop tools, exceeding customer needs, on time and on budget.
To meet that goal, the position holds the following authority:
- Write code for both PalmOS and Windows.
- Work with team leader, Support, and Marketing to create specifications for new products to exceed customer needs.
- Work with team leader to create achievable schedules and deliver to them.
- Build in software quality and maintainability.

MANAGEMENT TEAM
William E. Mitchell, 33, has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since he founded Firepad in 1997. He designed and managed the development of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Golf for Palm, the first commercial-quality Palm videogame. Previously, he served as Senior Producer at Crystal Dynamics, Inc., a Kleiner Perkins-financed entertainment software publisher, between 1992 and 1996. In this capacity he managed the development of eleven entertainment software titles, encompassing product design and planning, overlapping concurrent product development, development capacity planning, international localization, the creation and execution of a technical staff hiring plan, and controlling the risks of rapid growth in the software product industry. Between 1989 and 1991 he served as a software engineer at Apple Computer, Inc. He has written articles on technology issues, including the May 25, 1997 New York Times piece "Books Have Endured for a Reason," coauthored with Venture Law Group attorney Richard Hsu. Mr. Mitchell serves as the Chairman of the Board of Advisors of PDAPro, the leading association of developers for the Palm Computing® platform. He holds a B.S. degree in engineering from the California Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
Kenneth J. Marshall, 32, has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Firepad since 1999. Previously, Mr. Marshall served as President of Eureka Music, Inc., a privately-held distributor of videocassettes and music compact discs that he founded in 1995. In this capacity he forged relationships with content creators such as animator Bill Plympton, and with retailers including the Virgin Megastores. Earlier in 1999, he served as the interim business development executive at iFilm Corp., a San Francisco-based internet distributor of motion pictures. In that capacity he forged iFilm's relationships with Excite@Home, StreamSearch.com, and other major internet portals. During 1994, Mr. Marshall served as a head office strategist at EMI Music, Inc. In 1992 he became a founding investor and advisor to Winson Olson & Company, a computer systems integrator that he sold to Ikon Office Solutions, an NYSE-listed technology distributor, in 1997. Mr. Marshall has consulted to Silicon Film Technologies, a spin-off of NASDAQ-listed Irvine Sensors Corp.; America Online, Inc.; and Crystal Dynamics, Inc. Mr. Marshall holds a B.A. in International Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Image Viewer
Since 1997, Image Viewer has defined the standard for viewing graphics on Palm Computing(R) Platform handheld devices. Use it to view scrollable four-level (16 level on Palm IIIx, Palm IIIe, Palm V series, Handspring Visor and TRGPro devices) grayscale images, pictures, maps or diagrams. Also available is a free Windows 95/98/NT companion application for converting graphic files (.BMP, .GIF, .JPG and others) to a format that can be HotSynced into the handheld device.

A Windows 95/98/NT file conversion utility to change ImagerX images to the standard Image Viewer image format.
AlbumToGo to Image Viewer Converter
A Windows 95/98/NT file conversion utility to convert AlbumToGo images to the standard Image Viewer image format. The converter will read AlbumToGo image files (which have file names ending in .prc) and create Image Viewer images (which have file names ending in .pdb). Notes are converted as well, with an option to convert underscores in the image name to spaces.
