Kirusa Rolls Out New Call-N-Tweet Service

By James Alan Miller
December 8, 2009

Call-n-Tweet is a new service from Kirusa that allows Twitter users to send Voice Tweets (short audio snippets) to update their Twitter status. Currently in Alpha, the service is up and working now in the U.S.

So why voice instead of text? According to Kirusa, it is easier and faster to tweet using voice. And users can safely "voice tweet" hands free, even while driving. In addition, audio can convey your emotions, which text cannot, and it allows for tweets beyond twitter's 160-character message restriction.

You can sign up at callntweet.com to give Call-n-Tweet a try,. During sign up, you'll be asked to authorize Call-n-Tweet to connect to your Twitter account and provide the phone number from which you will Call-n-Tweet.

Subsequently, they'll be able to use the Call-n-Tweet service by calling a 212 (NYC) phone number. Once the call is connected, the user speaks a tweet and hangs up. Whereupon his or her status is automatically updated with a URL link to the voice tweet and all followers are notified. A follower can clicks on the link to hear the voice tweet and comment on it.
