There likely won't be any lines, but the date is significant nonetheless. On November 15th, this weekend, Sprint will start shipping Palm's second smartphone to run on its new webOS platform. It was the first mobile operator to ship the Pre, Palm's inaugural webOS handset, as well.
Although the carrier will offer the Palm Pixi for the relatively modest price of $100 with a two-year agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate, there is a way to get the handset for even less, much less. You can pre-order the Pixi for only $30 from
LetsTalk.com.
There's one catch, however: You must be new to sprint and sign up for a two-year agreement at $69.99 per month or higher. Otherwise, if you are a current Sprint customer, the Pixi will set you back $250 with a service agreement or $500 with no contract at all.
The Pixi is Palm's slimmest handset ever, sporting atablet-style with a 2.6-inch, 320 x 400-pixel touchscreen and QWERTY thumb-keyboard.
