A month into my LifeDrive
This is being written after a month with my Life Drive. I bought it after my T2 finally bit the dust with its battery gobbling screen and I didn't want to go the $70 to repair it and go back to the irritations of living in a world of Bluetooth (and all my gadgets) or Internet access but no SD card. Immediately I've been sent out on a little adventure which left my existing in my Lifedrive as my computer was too bulky to set up in a different hotel room each night.First, the existing application set (stock box product) is about the same as the earlier high-end Palm Tungsten series (which in itself is not a lot different than the 500 series) with the exception of a Rhapsody compatible mp3 player (Have you made enough money back from Real.com yet?) and the above mentioned Drive management software. In addition, the Blazer browser is installed. The 4 gb drive totally rocks as a concept. If you're thrashing it (say 350 email messages downloading with attachments and the screen on bright), it gets pretty warm and I wonder how well the excellent screen will hold up. One thing that is missing in the utility set is defragmenter (yes defragging of handheld devices helps and will soon become necessary). Over USB 2 and the included cable, defragging in the old method (copy files to drive, delete files on card, copy files back to PDA) takes WAY too long with 4 gigs. And the PDA speed significantly is reduced when the files are 85% fragmented. In addition, spinning the drive up and down is a big drag on performance so keep that in mind when you're installing apps. Fortunately, the main RAM is 64 MB (which I can't remember the article mentioning) so I haven't had to get the third party apps that basically establish a disk cache in the main RAM. Hopefully, Palm will see these out there and improve the ROM code to cache the disk better. All in all, if you bought this to get out of a previous Palm product, you'll love it. It spanks the Pocket PCs, Blackberry, etc. I've seen and is worth all I paid for it to me. I just went to Fry's and found it at $459 so it'll keep dropping if you prefer the wait.

My Experiences
Hi buddies,I am here to share my real experiences with Mobile Manager. It has advantage & disavantage. Before go on, let me introduce first. I have spent alot buying many gadgets in market as I prefer myself to experience. Mobile Manager is my first Palm product and first time to experience it. I've been using PocketPC, PocketPC Phones, Smartphones, expect a PDA(Palm). I bought Palm Mobile Manager to have a change but within a day, I turned it up. First thing, the web browser. It's not giving much quality in term of resizing fonts to viewable. There are guys out there think it's fine. Yet it's slow. Then, the OS! No file SyStem? Not a real world of computers. Then, listening to music with loudspeaker doesn't really loud compare to PocketPC or my Sony Err, & nokia Mobiles... It's not mulit-tasking. Nowaday, all of us better in playing with gadgets and yet it's not muliti-tasking which means, 1 things @ a time. Yes, u can play mp3 and do surfing, but when u want to check ur contact email address when u r half way typing on a webpage,it's not possible. once u exist it will close. That's all for now, Aminudeen.
