By James Alan Miller Access to the Internet from a Wi-Fi-enabled PDA or a smartphone is great. The problem is there's been no easy way to move your desktop browser's favorites to your Palm handheld's Web browser. More often than not you must begin anew, bookmarking Web sites from scratch. With Pocket Favorties ($14.95), Palm platform syncronization specialist Chapura promises to alleviate this difficulty. The company asserts the application enables you to launch your Internet Explorer Favorites from your mobile device. You can then use the PDA or smartphone to sync these favortie Web sites to two or more PCs. The aim of the utility software is to let you maintain a single list of favorite Web sites in several places.
Chapura President & CEO Keith Ellenberg asserted, “Pocket Favorites meets the needs of Web-savvy individuals who want to maximize the mobile capabilities of their handhelds.” Because users, "are most relieved when they can use the information that is on the handheld in the same way it was intended to be used on the desktop,” he said.
Pocket Favorites is the second Palm OS software utility from Chapura to integrate with Internet Explorer while synchronizing data with a Palm PDA or smartphone. Last June, the company released a password manager called TurboPasswords ($19.95). This appllicatoin includes an Internet Explorer plug-in that delivers one-click access to Web sites listed in the encrypted TurboPasswords database and automatically fills in online login forms. The password-protected database also synchronizes with Palm Powered handhelds to allow the organization of passwords, PINs and other personal information. Related Links:
