Audible's spoken word audiobooks, audio newspapers and magazines, radio programs, and original shows are now available for Tapwave's Palm-based Zodiac gaming handheld.

To support this partnership, the Tapwave Online Store is offering a $100 discount off the purchase price of Zodiac 1 ($269) or Zodiac 2 ($349) with a 12-month subscription to one of Audible's AudibleListener membership programs.

Foy Sperring, Senior VP of Strategic Alliances at Audible, said, "The Zodiac's multimedia functionality, high-quality stereo speakers, and headphone output provides a great environment for bringing Audible's audio service to life."

More than 32 hours of Audible's audio can be stored and played back on Zodiac 2 models, which have 128MBs of internal RAM. In addition, users can transfer and play back many more hours of Audible's audio titles by adding SD cards in the Zodiac's two expansion slots offering up to 2GB of additional storage.

Sperring added, "Working with the Tapwave developer-friendly APIs and robust mobile multimedia system, we are able to provide Zodiac and Audible customers with a state-of-the-art listening experience and long battery life in one handheld Palm OS device."
