A new version of the free open source Wikipedia encyclopedia is now available for Pocket PC, Palm and EPOC (Psion) handhelds.


Pocket PC

The English version uses 120MB of expernal card memory, but contains 310MB of text in compressed format and 140,000 articles. Thought the encyclopedia can be downloaded for free, you'll need one the TomeRaider viewer ($25) to read it. Smaller German, French, Esperanto and Dutch versions are also available for handhelds.


Palm OS

Wikipedia is an open source encyclopedia project in over 20 languages. According to Wikipedia, thousands of contributors add, extend, discuss and check articles all the time. Everyone can contribute easily, while a peer-review process safeguards quality.


Psion 5mx
