By Palm Boulevard Staff Adobe Systems has released Adobe Reader for Palm OS, version 3.0, a free software application that allows users read, navigate and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files on Palm OS handhelds. The latest version adds support for viewing additional Adobe PDF content, such as photographs and eBooks with added security, and provides users the ability to print over a wireless network. According to Adobe, for the first time, Adobe Reader for Palm OS users will have the ability to access a wider range of Adobe PDF files on Palm Powered devices, extending beyond business documents to include Photoshop Album slide shows and eBooks with added Adobe Digital Rights Management security. In addition, the latest version now provides the capability to print PDF files wirelessly over the Internet using Electronics for Imaging, Inc.'s (EFI) PrintMe network. The EFI PrintMe network allows users to print to enabled printers and fax machines from handhelds without requiring cables, print drivers or a complex network setup. The product is available for Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Mac OS X v10.2.2, and Palm Powered devices with Palm OS 3.5, 4.0, 4.1, or 5.0. It is initially available in English only. French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese language versions are expected to be available later this year. Related Links:
