A number of companies have announced support for Palm's new WiFi-enabled Tungsten C handheld and consumer orientated Zire 71 multimedia PDA. Companies include Wayport, Notify Technology, Audible.Com, MARGI Systems, Bachmann Software, and Mazingo Network.

Wayport
Wayport, a provider of WiFi (802.11b) wireless and wired high-speed Internet access in more than 525 hotels and 10 airports, has signed an agreement with Palm to promote Wayport's service to users of the Tungsten C handheld.

Components of the co-marketing agreement will include a 30-day free trial of Wayport's Wi-Fi and wired Internet access with the purchase of a Palm Tungsten C handheld, as well as co-promotions to Palm and Wayport's customers via each company's e-newsletters and Web site.

Palm customers who sign up for the free trial will receive 30 days of unlimited high-speed Internet connectivity -- both WiFi wireless and wired in hotels that include such brands as Four Seasons, Loews, Wyndham, Marriott and Embassy Suites, as well as WiFi access in six major airports: LaGuardia, Dallas-Fort Worth, Seattle-Tacoma, San Jose, Austin- Bergstrom and Oakland.

The free trial also entitles Palm Tungsten C handheld customers to 25 percent off workstation charges at Wayport's 15 Laptop Lane airport business centers, featuring private offices with high-speed Internet access and other business services. Following the 30-day trial, users will have the option to sign up for one of Wayport's membership programs to continue receiving unlimited access to the Wayport network.

Notify Technology
Notify Technology said it would support the Tungsten(d on any accessible WiFi network on all versions of it's NotifyLink Enterprise Edition products.
