By James Miller iBIZ Technology today announced several new additions to its product lineup for PDAs, including an Secure Digital (SD) FM radio, a leather Palm carrying case with a built-in 4-in-1 card reader, an SD slot digital camera, and a 7-in-1 card reader, which iBIZ claims allows the user to read SD, SM, MMC, CF type 1 and 2, MD and MS cards from either a handheld or desktop computer. According to the company, the Pocket Radio SD Card converts a standard PDA with an SD expansion slot into an FM tuner that provides up to eighteen different preset stations, search and seek functions, and the ability to output the signal to either headphones or external speakers. The Pocket Shot SD Card converts a standard PDA with an SD expansion slot into a digital camera. The camera stores pictures in JPEG format and, according to iBIZ, uses little of the PDA's power. iBIZ said the Palm Leather Carrying Case with built-in a 4-in-1 card reader is no larger than a standard Palm case and it allows access to 2 additional cards at once. It reads SD, SM, MMC, and MS cards as well as sync and charges the Palm without removing the device from the case. The case is designed to work with the m500 series, I-705, and Tungsten series handhelds. The reader is embedded within the leather case and can be accessed directly from the Palm or a PC via a USB cable. This cable connects directly to a computer's USB port, syncing and charging the Palm device while simultaneously accessing the card reader. Additional pricing, details and availability for the peripherals haven't been released yet. Related Links:
