Despite a slow economy, the Bluetooth semiconductor market will continue to grow, according to a new report from In-Stat/MDR.

The Scottsdale, Ariz.,-based research firm said Tuesday that it expects chipset sales for 2002 to surpass 35 million, a growth rate of about 250 percent. Further, the firm said that Bluetooth chipsets will surge from 10.4 to 510.0 million units from 2001 to 2006, a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 118 percent.
