EXideas has announced a new text entry solution, MessagEaseST, which runs on Palm OS devices and supports a paper-thin keyboard overlay on the PDA’s Graffiti area.

According to the company, MessagEaseST also offers virtual keyboard support for the Sony Clie NR70, providing a complete software alternative to Palm OS’s Graffiti. The product is currently in advanced beta and available for download through MessagEase’s Yahoo users group.

The company claims MessagEase’s technology uses what's called Fitts’ Law to reduce keyboard size and minimize movements required for text entry. MessagEase’s keyboard includes all ASCII characters. Additionally, MessagEaseST includes Palm’s commonly used commands, Macro capability, and text shortcuts.

MessagEaseST overlays are slated to become commercially available in early August, but the program as well as the overlay artwork is now available from the Yahoo users group.

MessageEase is simply the best
My experience with MessageEase is similar to many who have tried it--it's the best data input alternative out there. It does take a little time to learn, but proficiency can be gained in just a couple of weeks of practice. The program increases its...more
