Purple Data Cables is now in production with a new adapter cable ($59.99) for Sony CLIE. The model number of the new cable is PDCT-M9-6.

Purple said the new cable uses an improved version of the full-power RS232 technology that is used on its Visor cables. Owing to these design improvements, the company claims it is compatible with more cell phones than any other CLIE adapter cable on the market.

The cable, which has interface electronics packaged inside, can also be used to connect serially with a large number of add-on devices such as GPS, modems, data acquisition boxes, Automotive diagnostic interfaces, MIDI, etc.
