DataViz(R), Inc. today announced a new educational pricing schedule for its Palm OS(R) products. This line of products include Documents To Go(R) Professional Edition and Desktop To Go(R), which together empower users with Outlook, Word, Excel and more on Palm(tm) powered handheld computers.

DataViz is hopeful that its new, lower prices for the education market will enable more schools, colleges and universities to benefit from its proven success in the Palm software space. According to the U.S. Department of Education, schools are only able to spend about 2% of their annual budgets on technology purchases. With help from software and hardware vendors, school systems may be able to take advantage of the growing handheld market.

With Documents To Go, students and educators can view and edit Word, Excel and other files right on the handheld, and bring changes back to the desktop during synchronization. Relevant files include the class syllabus, lecture notes, research, reports and class schedules.

"I'm in college finishing my bachelor's degree and Documents To Go by DataViz has become an invaluable tool in my school arsenal," said Michael Anderson, student and DataViz customer. "This program eliminates re-writing notes and offers me a very functional option for doing real work, right on my handheld."

Desktop To Go provides Microsoft(R) Outlook users the ability to synchronize the Palm handheld Date Book, Address Book, To Do List and Memo Pad with Outlook information. Students and educators can record assignments, exam dates and other important information onto their Palm handheld and then synchronize that information onto their desktop computer.
