I must confess that I do not commonly use QuickBooks software to do any of my own accounting so I am a relative novice when it comes to performing tasks with this type of software. When I first began to look through the QBMobile instruction manual I was a little concerned that QBMobile might be tough to understand. Once I actually loaded the software onto my Palm my fears disappeared and I found that this powerful software was actually fairly simple to use.

A mobile professional armed with QBMobile and a PalmOS handheld is capable of doing virtually every accounting task that he/she would be able to perform while sitting in the office. QBMobile can help with Time Tracking, Invoices, Sales Receipts, Refunds, and many other tasks.

Integration with QuickBooks on the desktop computer is simple. The included HotSync conduit works as described, and the accompanying desktop software is excellent in helping you select which entries are to be imported into QuickBooks.

I was impressed with the wide range of trasactions which QBMobile supported. I expected a few transaction types to be supported, and a host of others to be left as something supported only on the desktop. QBMobile allows you to take all of your transactions with you on the road. Have to write up a bill? QBMobile will let you do it. Someone is asking for a refund? Got that covered too. How about time tracking? QBMobile includes companion programs to handle that as well.

My opinion: After using QBMobile for a period of a couple weeks I feel that QBMobile is one of the best software suites for a mobile professional in need of financial accounting on the go. The software was simple to learn and use (even for someone with very limited QuickBooks experience), and it delivered everything that was expected and more.

Ok, it’s time to grade this program. Rather than go with the traditional 1-10 scale I’m going to give a new scale a try. Due to the excellence of the program QBMobile is definitely worthy of its grade of A+. Give QBMobile a test run and you'll see what I'm talking about.
